NY Empire FC is proud to announce Julian Escobar as Head Coach of the ISX Girls 2013 team, set to compete in the 2026 Donosti Cup in San Sebastián, Spain. With tryouts scheduled for September, Escobar brings a wealth of professional and coaching experience that will help shape one of NY Empire’s most promising young teams.

Julian Escobar is an accomplished coach and former professional player with an impressive background across both outdoor and indoor soccer. He has spent the past seven years coaching within the New York City FC (NYCFC) youth system, helping develop players at all levels with a strong emphasis on technical and tactical growth. Escobar is also the founder and director of Levels Futsal, a year-round program that focuses on high-level skill development for boys and girls born between 2010 and 2018.

Before beginning his coaching journey, Escobar enjoyed a successful playing career. A standout at LIU Post, he played four years at the collegiate level before taking his game overseas to Spain, where he competed in the 2nd and 3rd divisions. He then transitioned to the indoor game, playing four professional seasons in the MASL (Major Arena Soccer League) and spending eight years with the U.S. Futsal National Team, including an appearance in the 2021 FIFA Futsal World Cup.

“I’m incredibly excited to be part of NY Empire’s ISX program,” said Escobar. “The Donosti Cup is a world-class event, and I’m looking forward to building a team that reflects the creativity, intensity, and discipline required to compete at that level. I want players who are technically sharp, eager to learn, and who thrive in high-pressure environments.”
Escobar’s blend of elite-level playing experience and youth development expertise makes him uniquely suited to lead this talented group. His international playing career—spanning both field and futsal—brings invaluable insight to players seeking a well-rounded, modern approach to the game.

“Having played in both Europe and at the international level, I understand the mindset and preparation required to succeed against top competition,” Escobar added. “My goal is to pass that experience on to these young players and help them grow both as athletes and as people.”
With a commitment to technical excellence, tactical awareness, and player-first development, Julian Escobar is poised to make a major impact on NY Empire’s Girls 2013 team as they prepare for the Donosti Cup and beyond.
